Baltimore Sun: State to use stimulus funds for public works projects
From Baltimore Sun:
Maryland's Board of Public Works approved yesterday distributing $119.2 million in federal economic stimulus funds for fixing and upgrading water and sewer systems, restoring streams and ponds and creating wetlands. The funds, in grants and zero-interest loans, are to go toward 82 "shovel-ready" projects in all 23 of the state's counties and in Baltimore City. The awards were made from nearly 600 infrastructure projects proposed by local governments that would have cost more than $3.7 billion in all.
