Forum: Dorgan urges ND to use stimulus money for road and bridge repairs (ND)

From Forum:

North Dakota is expected to receive about $650 million from the federal stimulus bill, and because the state is in good shape financially ,there's a call by the governor and some members of the Legislature to save money for future use.  Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., said the intent of the stimulus bill is to put people to work and address needs in each state.  In North Dakota, Dorgan said he hopes stimulus money will be used for infrastructure projects like repairs to bridges and roads.  Gov. John Hoeven has proposed putting about one-third of the stimlus money into savings and House Appropriations Committee Chairman Ken Svedjan has also gone on record as saying he wants to save stimlus dollars for the future wherever it's possible.
