Martinburg Journal: Manchin to introduce bill (WV)
From Martinburg Journal:
Gov. Joe Manchin wants to make sure that state money being spent on infrastructure projects goes as far as possible so citizens get the best return on their public dollars. That's why he plans to introduce a bill to the Legislature aimed at changing how engineering firms are selected for state projects. "If you've been listening to what's been coming out of Washington and the Obama administration, you know that the emphasis has been on trying to make government more responsive and trying to get it to run more efficiently," Manchin said Wednesday in a telephone interview from Charleston. "I really believe the change we are proposing will do just that. It will also save money, so we can do more projects," he said. "And we definitely want to do as much work as possible with the stimulus money that is coming to us."
