News Journal: Governor signs $175 million stimulus package

From News Journal:

Gov. Ted Kulongoski has signed a $175 million statewide stimulus package using bonds to fund projects to repair schools, colleges and transportation infrastructure.  Legislators approved the package in Senate Bill 338 and sent it to Kulongoski’s desk. The projects also will tackle deferred maintenance work in several school districts across the state. “This list of projects is designed to move quickly and will reach into every corner of the state,” Kulongoski said. “But this is just the start of a comprehensive stimulus strategy. We must continue to work with our federal partners to create opportunities to get Oregon working immediately and for the long term.”
