Palm Beach Post: Obama stimulus offers 'historic' leap forward for public transit, Wexler says (FL)
From Palm Beach Post:
U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler this morning touted the benefits that President Obama's economic stimulus would bring to Palm Beach County roadways and public transit, calling the spending an "historic investment in transportation and infrastructure." Speaking from a downtown West Palm Beach train platform, Wexler highlighted spending in local public transit, noting the 10 hybrid buses, new downtown West Palm Beach bus transfer station and "park and ride" facilities coming to Belle Glade and Wellington as a result of stimulus. the Boca Raton Democrat also noted the $27 million in road projects on which Palm Beach County leaders expect to break ground within 120 days using the county's share of the $787 billion stimulus that Obama signed into law last month.
