WSJ: Lazard's Statesman, a Game-Changer
It should make you queasy. But investment banker Felix Rohatyn doesn't flinch when he says it: A "domestic IMF" is necessary to help American cities and states stave off budget crises. Just weeks ago, Mr. Rohatyn returned to Lazard Ltd., the place where he began his career in 1948, and which he left in 1997. Mr. Rohatyn isn't the same figure he was in the 1960s and 1970s, when he became Wall Street's leading investment banker, and an embodiment of Camelot-era cool. Lately, he keeps a walking cane stashed on the hook at the back of his office door.

Deseret News: Utah DOT Wants Public Informed About Construction Projects in Works
I-15 Core is one of about 25 major construction projects the Utah Department of Transportation discussed with the media at a news conference Monday afternoon. UDOT wants the public to "Know Where, Know Why," as the slogan goes for the 2010 construction information campaign. "We're keenly aware our customers like us best when they see us least," said Carlos Braceras, UDOT deputy director. Drivers can learn about construction by picking up the 2010 Road Construction Guide at most Utah Subway Restaurants. Drivers can also find information online at www.udot.utah.gov . The site also can arrange for drivers to receive Facebook, Twitter and other social media messages.
Tulsa World: Road contracts delayed
Facing potential budget shortfalls, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation took the first of a possible series of steps Monday to delay or halt road improvement projects in Tulsa County and across the state. ODOT commissioners delayed awarding contracts for 37 federally funded projects totaling about $50 million as the state waits for federal road funding. The department said a shortage of state funds could also eventually delay important projects, including the widening of Interstate 44 in Tulsa.
