Former US Secretary of Transportation and current Building America’s Future co-chair Ray LaHood spent the day in Atlanta meeting with key stakeholders and elected officials about the urgent need for long term investment in America’s roads, bridges and transit systems.  BAF partnered with the Georgia Transportation Alliance for a full day of events including a press conference where Secretary LaHood urged Congress to draft a long-term bill and to identify a sustainable funding source for the Highway Trust Fund.  While in Atlanta, LaHood testified at the first hearing of the state’s Joint Legislative Study Committee on Critical Transportation Infrastructure where he encouraged lawmakers to move forward with plans to invest in Georgia’s transportation network in order to stay competitive.
