App Lets Public Voice Transportation Woes Directly to Lawmakers
Building America’s Future and the U.S. Travel Association today announced a new partnership to launch a co-branded “I’m Stuck” app, a mobile phone app that will empower millions of American travelers dealing with travel delays and frustrations. The app connects travelers directly to their elected representatives, urging policymakers to take immediate action to upgrade America’s aging transportation infrastructure and to replenish the Highway Trust Fund.
Washington Must Address Failing Infrastructure to Avoid Economic Harm: Survey
Global competitiveness and economic and job growth are all severely imperiled by the United States’ collapsing transportation infrastructure, overwhelming numbers of business leaders say in a survey conducted by Building America’s Future and the U.S. Travel Association.
Building America’s Future Applauds Bipartisan Major Water Reform Legislation Passage through the House of Representatives
Today the U.S. House of Representatives approved the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 412-4. The Senate is also expected to pass WRRDA later this week and the conference report will be sent to President Obama who is expected to sign it.

Building America’s Future Applauds Obama Administration Infrastructure Proposal
Building America’s Future applauded today’s announcement from President Obama that he will lay out a proposal for a four-year, $302 billion surface transportation reauthorization and a new $600 million round of the TIGRER grant program. President Obama’s proposal also includes a one-time $150 billion infusion from corporate tax reform and comes at a time when the Highway Trust Fund is rapidly approaching insolvency and the Surface Transportation Bill is under consideration for reauthorization.

Today Building America’s Future co-chair and former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell joined leaders from local government and the engineering and business communities at a policy forum co-hosted by Building America’s Future, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the American Society of Civil Engineers. The policy forum “Investing in Infrastructure Matters,” was convened to address local and national challenges in investing in our roads, bridges, and transit systems. The recent flooding that caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage and wiped out roads and bridges across Colorado only underscores the urgent need for the federal and state governments and the private sector to work together on critical investments.
