Building America’s Future Applauds Obama Administration Infrastructure Proposal
Building America’s Future applauded today’s announcement from President Obama that he will lay out a proposal for a four-year, $302 billion surface transportation reauthorization and a new $600 million round of the TIGRER grant program. President Obama’s proposal also includes a one-time $150 billion infusion from corporate tax reform and comes at a time when the Highway Trust Fund is rapidly approaching insolvency and the Surface Transportation Bill is under consideration for reauthorization.
Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation LaHood Joins BAF as a Co-Chair

Serving alongside fellow co-chairs former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I) and former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell (D), the Honorable Ray LaHood will help lead BAF’s bipartisan coalition of current and former elected officials who are committed to raising awareness about the need to invest in our nation’s roads, bridges, airports, rails and ports. Together, the BAF co-chairs called on Washington to support critical transportation infrastructure investments and take action to keep the Highway Trust Fund solvent.
