Representative Bill Herbkersman has lived in Beaufort County for over 25 years and has called Bluffton home for the last 20 years. Herbkersman has served in the House of Representatives since 2003, where he serves on the Rules Committee.
With his wife Mary, Herbkersman started Cycle Centers Inc., and built it into a multi-state retail sporting goods and cycling store. In addition to Cycle Centers, the Herbkersman own Apex Land and Development and Marina Front Development, which aim to provide affordable and moderate housing in Beaufort and Jasper Counties, in addition to successfully redevelop “undesirable” areas from Columbia, SC to Jacksonville, Florida.
Herbkersman, who prides himself on being a good steward of the land, redeveloping “eyesore” properties in the immediate area and providing low impact/high community usage projects, has created employment for over 150 Beaufort County residents.
