David Roefaro is a lifelong resident of the City of Utica and together with his wife, Cindy, have two children. David has owned and operated Scala Roefaro Funeral Home, on Culver Ave since 1984. He attended Proctor High School, a graduate of the class of 1977. He then went on to Herkimer County Community College, and the Simmons College in Syracuse, NY, where he graduated in 1981.
Public Service has been close to David's heart for many years, and serving the people of the City of Utica has been something he has done throughout his life. In 1992 he became a member of the Utica City School District Board of Education, a position he held for five years. David was also a two term at large Common Council Representative for the City of Utica, a position he held for four years. He served one term as Utica's 75th Mayor, a seat he won in November of 2007.
David has also served as the past president of the Tri-County Funeral Directors Association, and is a member of that board today. He is an active member in the Tau Phi Zeta Fraternity of Utica, NY, a member of the Sons of Italy, The Knights of St. John Commandary #385, and a long time member of St. Anthony's Church in Utica.
