Rep. David Whitaker has served in the Arkansas House of Representatives since 2013. He represents District 85 which includes a portion of Washington county.
Rep. Whitaker is the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Advanced Communications and Information Technology and serves on the Public Transportation Committee and City, County and Local Affairs Committee.
Rep. Whitaker earned his BA in geography from University of Mary Washington, and his JD from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, AR. He served as a Staff Sergeant for the United States Airforce.
He is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association and was recognized in 2006 with the Outstanding Government Attorney Award. He was also named Distinguished Legislator by the Arkansas Municipal League in 2013 and 2015. He was named Legislative Champion by Citizens First Congress in 2015.
Rep. Whitaker has two daughters and resides in Fayettville with his wife Lisa.
