Kenny represented District 89 from 2001 to 2017.
While in office, Kenny was a member of the powerful House Ways & Means committee – which is responsible for drafting the state spending plan – and was a consistent voice for tax relief and responsible spending since earning this coveted position after four years on the House Labor, Commerce & Industry Committee. A successful businessman, Kenny is a licensed professional engineer and co-owner of American Engineering Consultants, Inc.
A lifelong resident of Lexington County, Kenny is a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School and the University of South Carolina. Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives in 2000, Kenny served as a member of the City of Cayce Planning Commission for two years. He also served for four years on the Lexington School District Two Board of Trustees, including two years as Chairman.
